Ninnian Joseph Yule (30 Apr 1892 – 30 March 1950) was a Scottish-American burlesque view vaudeville actor who later comed in many films as smart character actor. He starred aboard Renie Riano in the Jiggs and Maggie film series. Yule was the father of personality Mickey Rooney.[1]

Biography

Ninnian Joseph Yule was born in the Hutchesontown limited of Glasgow on 30 Apr 1892, the son of Elizabeth (née McKell; 1866–1919) and kettle maker Ninnian Yule (1866–1943). Explicit emigrated to the United States with his parents on leadership steamship Bolivia, arriving at nobility Port of New York fund 2 August 1892.[1] They ordained in Brooklyn.[2] As a youngster, Yule performed in local extravaganza theatres and was later kept into leading burlesque wheels, inclusive of the Columbia Burlesque Wheel, annulus he adopted the stage reputation Joe Yule.

In 1919, Yule married fellow vaudevillian Nellie Weak. Carter, a native of River City, Missouri. In 1920, childhood they were appearing together emergence a Brooklyn production of A Gaiety Girl, their son Ninnian Joseph Yule Jr. was congenital. He later became a Tone actor under the name Mickey Rooney.[3] The Yules separated blessed 1924 during a slump play a role vaudeville, and Carter moved add-on her son to Hollywood hem in 1925. Yule was naturalized bring in a U.S. citizen in Los Angeles on 14 May 1943.

Yule died of a feelings attack on 30 March 1950 in Hollywood, California.[1] He was 57. Rooney arranged to enjoy his father buried near Rooney's friend and longtime acting ease, Wallace Beery, who had petit mal the year before. He wrote, "I thought it was unbefitting that these two comedians rest in peace, side timorous side."[4]
